My home town is Crary, North Dakota, in between Lakota and Devils Lake. I am a Fisheries and Wildlife major. Some of my hobbies mostly include being in the outdoors. I enjoy hunting, fishing, skiing, hiking, water sports, softball and hockey. This trip interested me because of the opportunity to sample the various rivers systems across Texas. Although it sounds like we won’t be able to sample Independence Creek, I am excited to sample other desert streams if we get the chance. The clear waters of the San Marcos river and getting the chance to snorkel is another thing I cannot wait for. Seining the Gulf is going to be another highlight of the trip. Getting to know more about the aquatic insects across the state this time around will be very interesting. I am also looking forward to eating the steam pots and other food that we don’t get way up here on the tundra. Crayfish has to be one of my favorite things that come in those steam pots.
