My name is Kyler Tichkowsky. I am currently a junior at Valley City State University studying Fisheries and Wildlife. I am from St. Paul, Alberta Canada, a small town in the northern part of Alberta. One of my greatest interests is hunting and fishing. The outdoors has been a part of my life for as long as I remember from going fishing with my grandpa to hunting for the first time with my dad. I’ve always enjoyed doing activities outside like sledding and camping. In high school, I did 2 main sports which were track and field and football. During the football season after our Saturday games, I would go hunting Sunday morning to have the chance to get a buck and enjoy the outdoors. I’m excited to go on the Texas trip because I want to experience true camping where you don’t have a camper but just tents and what nature provides. Another activity I am excited about is going saltwater fishing for the first time to see the cool and exotic fish that I can catch. Finally, this trip will teach me about a new ecosystem along with new techniques for fish sampling. I am also excited to work with people I haven’t got the chance to so that I can get more experience working in a team along with making new friends. This trip will also help me in my future occupation.
