Brooke Gaudry

My name is Brooke Gaudry, and I’m from Red Deer, Alberta, Canada. I am 22 years old and started my journey at VCSU in the fall of 2020. Currently, I’m a senior majoring in Fisheries and Wildlife Science with a major in biology, with the goal of building a career in the fisheries field. Being outdoors has always been a huge part of my life, and it brings me so much happiness. I am dedicated to preserving the environment so that future generations can enjoy the same natural beauty that has played a significant role in shaping who I am.

From a young age, I spent most of my time outside with my family, whether it was exploring, camping, fishing, or simply enjoying nature. I was always fascinated by the creatures around me, from bugs and amphibians to fish and reptiles. I never hesitated to pick them up and take a closer look. When I came to VCSU, I was introduced to hunting, and it quickly became something I love. There’s nothing quite like the rush of the hunt, the excitement of watching my German Shorthaired Pointer work, and the pure joy of being outdoors. Hunting has given me an even greater appreciation for nature, wildlife, and conservation.

I can’t wait to explore Texas and discover the incredible diversity of wildlife and landscapes it has to offer. Experiencing a completely different environment will be an exciting opportunity to expand my knowledge, observe new species up close, and deepen my appreciation for the outdoors. This trip will allow me to step outside of what I’m used to and gain a new perspective on the natural world.
