My name is Morgan Gentzkow. I am from the Sanborn, North Dakota area. I went to elementary and high school at the small school of Litchville-Marion, graduating with a class size of 12. I am currently a junior at VCSU as a double major majoring in Fisheries and Wildlife Science with a concentration in wildlife, and also majoring in Biology. I am taking a few extra classes that are not required by my majors so that I can try to get into veterinary school. I would like to continue my work with wildlife after obtaining my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree. I have a lot of hobbies and interests which makes my life full of activities. My main interest would be taking care of animals. Last year I bought a mini Australian shepherd named Maverick who occupies a lot of my time. At my parents’ home I have horses, chickens, barn cats, dogs, and a cow that I help take care of when I am home. Besides taking care of all these guys, I enjoy hunting, fishing, kayaking, hiking, riding horse, baking/cooking, arts and crafts type things, and making projects from wood and metal. Other things that take up my time during the school year are my jobs, which are a vet assistant at the Valley City Veterinary Hospital and a receptionist at Miller Motors. I am extremely excited to be going on this trip so that I can learn some new information on a different area in the U.S. I have never been to Texas so I have never experienced the culture of that area in person. I look forward to seeing all the fish, wildlife, and plants that we do not have up here in the northern part of the U.S. It will be a once in a lifetime opportunity that I will be able to fulfill while enjoying the company of my friends.
