I am in my 22nd year as a Biology professor at Valley City State University and am currently the Chair of the Science Department. My background is in the study of aquatic macroinvertebrates, the many different type of small aquatic insects, snails, leeches, crustaceans, mussels, and other organisms found in freshwater. Growing up in rural North and South Dakota I’ve always loved playing in the water and seeing what interesting critters are there. In my professional life I have been fortunate to travel all across North Dakota sampling rivers and streams. While I have experience sampling in other northern states, I have no experience in southern rivers. I am excited to see what we will find!
